Wow! Can you believe that the year is almost over? Time flies when your having fun, and student council kids are always keeping busy. I hope that you all have happy and safe holidays.
This month's leadership theme from the National Association is 'politics.' Next year is a very important year for our country, it is election year. How are you and your council going to spread the word on the importance of voting? It is important that student councils are striving to ensure that students are civically engaged (conveniently, this is one of the 4 Pillars of Leadership)! Share with us on our Facebook page what your council is going to do to ensure that your students are civically engaged.
It has been a pleasure serving as your State President over the past months, and I look forward to the next few ahead of us. Next time, I will be updating this message will be in 2012! Make sure you check out the challenge of the month below which is to memorize the NASC mission statement. "The Nevada Association of Student Councils is dedicated in unifying the state through effective communication, and assisting all Nevada student councils in achieving their goals." Send in videos of you and your councils rehearsing the mission statement and you will be included in our next video address. You can also make a poster with the mission statement on it, take a picture of your council with it, and post it on our Facebook page!
